Job description
Property Manager
This is a hybrid position that requires going to sites, remote from home internet access with a desktop or laptop at home in a quiet space and established knowledge of property management and strong customer relations skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of property management, including leasing, maintenance, and tenant relations
- Conduct property tours and show available units to prospective tenants
- Screen and process rental applications, including conducting background and credit checks
- Prepare lease agreements and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Collect rent payments and handle tenant inquiries or concerns
- Coordinate property maintenance and repairs, including scheduling contractors and overseeing work quality
- Maintain accurate records of all property-related transactions and documents
- Assist with marketing efforts to attract new tenants and maintain high occupancy rates
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent, previous experience in property management or a related field is preferred
- Expanded knowledge of computers to include, but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and various property management and contractor database management systems is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with tenants, vendors, and team members
- Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) program is a plus
- Familiarity with Delaware and Maryland State real estate and rental laws preferred
- Basic understanding of property leasing processes and legal requirements
- Sales experience is beneficial for promoting available units and negotiating lease terms
- Understanding of property maintenance practices and ability to coordinate repairs as needed
- Familiarity with real estate administrative tasks, such as preparing contracts and managing documentation
